I am doing a science project I can't get. It's due in one week and I need to make a ping pong ball launcher that has to be triggered by a mousetrap and has to launch 3 meters into a coffee can. requirements=
~1 standard household mousetrap
~3 dozen ping pong balls
~added on materials permitted
If anyone knows how to make one or knows a site where they show it please tell. Anything would help, i need this for half of my semester grade!

The mousetrap has a spring in it that is kept still with a little latch thingy (oh, you know what I mean. Get the mousetrap and look at it.) Pull the little arm back, and put the ping-pong ball above the snappy-part. Like, get a Pringles can (use a can opener to open the closed end) to put the ping-pong balls into, so they funnel down above the point where the spring arm springs forward.
Then, get another Pringles can at an angle (cut them so they make an angle and put them together. Duct tape or something.) Put that where the arm goes forward, so the balls shoot out the end of the can. Put in, like, a little groove for the arm to snap back to the bottom of the mousetrap (the "kill" part, where the dead mouse would be.) Then, push the arm back and re-set it, then snap another ball out like before.
I don't know how to make a better trigger mechanism than that. You'll probably snap your fingers. Leave the Pringles on the side and eat them to distract yourself from the pain of your pinched fingers. Why are there 3 dozen ping-pong balls? Is it supposed to be an automatic ping-pong ball launcher? I don't know. You have a week--cozy up to somebody who's taken this class before and have him/her make it for you.
