he knows i like him.

when asked his opinion of me, he told one of his friends that I was a 'lady'.

he got embarrassed when his friends told me funny stories (like him farting on one them).

he told his mom that he is afraid that he will influence me (we are completely different, he is a 'bad boy').

he is going out with someone who has just got out of rehab.

does he think he doesn't deserve someone like me?

he just cares about you and doesn't want you to only see the 'bad side' of him... he wants you to see his good qualities overall but he just knows he doesn't have the best of reputations.... he just knows how he is and cares about you enough to not want to "lessen" your greatness in any way. it's not that he thinks you are too good for him and doesn't deserve you, it's just that he thinks that a person so amazing as you deserves someone just as amazing, because he just knows how he is.

i wouldnt say that i think its more the fact that he knows both of your reputations and the fact that you are both different may have some influence...mainly i think its more because he does somewhat have feelings for you but he's afraid to let you know because he doesnt want to change who you are or hurt you in any way. he cares to much about you to let his bad boy ness influence who you are and who you want to be.

I'd say it's a pretty good bet that he doesn't think he's good enough for you. No matter how much it hurts you have to accept that and move on to someone who you DO deserve.

Honesly, yes. Most people will date within their small group of friends. If you want to let him know that you're feeling him without making it obvious...become friends. Tell him things that you would only tell your friends...go out of your way to say hi to him and ask him how his day is going, listen to his problems...just show that you care. If you show him that he's worthy of your friendship, maybe he will consider a relationship too.
