When ANY dog tastes HUMAN blood they turn wild. But the consequences with a chihuahua and a pit bull are definitely not the same. And a bird blood won't do it anyway.

The scent of blood is not genetically inbred in any dog to turn violent. So, now you have a predatory dog. Many dogs hunt birds. Just focusing on love and not violence will prevent dogs from attacking people. Have a dog gone great year. I realize that pit bulls have gotten a bum rap, but have found statistically cocker spaniels do a lot of facial damage also. Due to inbreeding dogs can develop the traits that lean toward violence, but most agree it is the owner that trains the dog to behave inappropriately. Have a great day.

No this is sbsolutely not true. If a dog had its way, pitt bull or not, it would eat live animals and not dog food. Its what they eat in the wild!!! He probably will want to eat more birds now but no they DONT turn violent. The only thing you need to worry about is the dog maybe getting a case of worms from eating a wild bird. Its not likely though.

i've had pit bulls my whole life and i never found that to be true! Violence in a dog is all in how you raise them! As for your dog eating a bird I would keep an eye on him cause birds carry provo which can very deadly to dogs!

Absolutely not!! Violent pit bulls are just like any other dog, be it a Doberman, Shepherd, Rottie, etc. If you raise them to be mean, they will be. Just scold him when he goes after birds with your voice (do not hit). Eventually, he will get bored with this activity if you keep reminding him it is wrong.

Pit Bulls (american bull dog) is my favorite type of dog. I've had several pitbulls that were never violent and overall very good with children and other people.

Let me remind you- bad dogs aren't bred, they're made.

nope- out pitbull eats birds/rabbits/raccoons all of the time. Still is the wimpiest dog ever. Oh- he doesn't kill them- our english shepard or husky kill them, drag them into the barn, and then the pitbull starts gnawing on them....then again, he eats everything in sight.

No.. that is all just a big myth! Violent dogs come from inbreeding, neglect, and abuse.
