A full sheet cake is 18" x 24", and will serve 70 to 80 people. A 1/4 sheet cake is 9" x 12", so a half sheet cake is equivalent to 2 1/4 sheet cakes.

There is no standard size... But most people consider a half sheet cake to be between 11-12 x 15-18 When people ask for a half sheet cake I always ask how many people it needs to feed and then can further decide what size would be better.

Depends on the size of the original cake. A sheet cake just means one layer, such as one baked in a 9x13 pan.
