I have heard that chewing gum before kissing actually makes your breath worse. I know you don't wanna have anything in your mouth whenever you kiss but does gum actually make it worse? Do you prefer one of the other?

In my opinion, both make bad breath worse. If you plan on doing some serious lip lock on someone, then by all means brush, floss and use some mouthwash. Your tongue is where most of the nasty taste is at, and you do plan to use that in the lip gripper part don't you??? If you can't do that then try the spray, it works better.

way better, listerine pocket packs!

Whether you chew mint or gum or use a mouthwash, your breath odor is only masked for a short time. Bad breath can never be totally stopped. It is too complicated a condition, with several causes, that one can never stop it.
Between the two, mint is preferable as it can be swallowed if the piece remaining in the mouth is not too big. Gum could get stuck in the throat passage.
Frequent use of mint has the disadvantage of your getting constipated, as it has some active ingredients which affect the bowels! As you might be aware, constipation is one of the contributory causes of bad breath. Hence be careful of the amount of mint that you chew. You can try cinnamon pieces, for a change.

A mint would be much better than a piece of gum. This way if you accidently swallow it, then it wouldn't do any harm to your stomach like gum. Just be sure to let the mint dissolve completely before you start kissing your girlfriend.

Neither. Lemon juice works the best! Believe me. (Just make sure to wash out your mouth after drinking it. It's kind of sour)
