get a humidifier.. the air is probably just dry during the winter months.

When I have a cold I get a blocked nose and when I sleep I breath through mouth. I wake up with a sore throat. Try that vicks sinex stuff.

If you don't have cold symptoms it may be esophagitis, that is you throat gets burned with the liquids used by your stomach to digest food. I used to get it in periods of stress. The doctor will give you pills and the problem is solved quickly.

You sleep with your mouth open? Probably snore a bit too? Just drink a lot of water before bed and try to sleep on your side so you won't naturally open your mouth.
