you first need to decide how you bought the tv, as a friend, or the customer, of a catalogue agent.
It may be, they bought, in thier name, and you are paying them back, informally. In which case, they need to phone the catalogue, re warranty, as if it was thiers, and have it at thier house, for pick up.
If formally, your friend runs a club book, as theyre called, get thier account number, phone Kay's (or wichever) and go through their warranty/repair/collection proccedure, over the phone, as the customer of a "proper" agent.
Either way, the catalogue will "endorse" the repair with a supplier, but then give you a direct manufacturer/service agent number to contact, probably giving you a reference number.
basically, you fone the catalogue, they refer you to manufacturer, or service agent, they collect, and sort, under warranty.
Whether its you, or your friend who calls, depends on if they are doing you a favour, buying on credit for you, or they are an agent of a catalogue.

The box is not a problem. You need to speak to your friend to find out if the TV as to be returned or whether the company who makes the TV repairs it under guarantee

If you have a receipt with the date of purchase and the TV is under warranty (most new TVs have 1 year), then you can call the TV manufacturer and ask them to fix it .

Same rights as if you bought from a shop. You have a 12month guarantee. Contact the catalogue company

None because you are not the purchaser, your friend is.
