People show respect to politicians and world leaders. Respecting the Pope isn't glorifying or idolizing him. . .it's honoring him as a religious and world leader.

No one idolizes the Pope. He is respected because he is the successor of Peter, to whom Christ entrusted us (John 21:15-17).

the pope is christs succesor as traced back to peter, he is the visible head of the visible church as promised by jesus. he is not worshipped or glorified,that belongs only to god, all catholics recognise that. learn a little about the faith and then you won't have any more false beliefs.
