Because you probably live in an area with no decent guys. And if there are decent guys, they're either way too shy, passive, or stuck up. And if no one thinks outside the box.

Just take it slow and try to get to know people.
Say "hello i am trying to meet new people what is your name"
maybe there will be an attraction and it will lead to a new friendship... or even more!

its not really hard if you both have alot in common then it is easy as you will have good conversations
but if your both very differnt then it will be hard and also you will have nothing to talk about
