We have a 2 year old mutt (we think part lab). She is very loving (specially with my husband) And we've never had any major problems wth her. Since I found out Im pregnant I started changing some things just beacuse I dont want her to be in shock when the baby arrives. Fo example I dont let her jump to greet me when I get home, I dont let her on the bed when I am in it. My baby is Due at teh end of March, is there something else I should do to get her ready for the "new puppy"??? Any book I should read? I've heard about the blanket with baby scent...will do, but any other idea?

No matter what....always remember...a dog is a dog. Even though it might be a very loving dog, caution should be taken when mixing babies and any animal. Your concern here shows that you will be a great mother and I'm sure you will use good sense....God bless.

Congrats on the baby! My baby girl is due March 28th!!! Im so excited. I am doing the same thing with my zoo. I have been letting them sniff everything, I even got a doll and wrapped it in a blanket and carry it around. They are so curious. I place the doll on the floor and if they are too active around it, I make them sit down and calm down. I have been increasing my attention to them too. Putting my hands in thier dishes. They are used to kids since my sisters and brothers have there babies around all the time. I am just getting them used to my own baby now. I think that they will be fine but thats some suggestions for her to get her used to what you will be doing later on. I have not had any human kids yet this is my first, I have had hundreds of animal babies though!!!

Dogs are great with new members of the family especially when new baby's are around.I have countless story's but just be reassured that she will be very considerate of the new baby. The dog knows allot more than you think they instinctively know when children are small most dogs that aren't trained to kill or abused. You have a great dog she will be very protective of the new baby don't worry she will adapt well.

I examine this in a mag... a million)once you're on the scientific institution with the toddler and until eventually now you bypass homestead with the toddler, enable somebody or the daddy come homestead with a blanket or some style of cloth the toddler became wearing..enable the canines sniff the blanket or some style of the textile of the toddler became wearing. 2)once you get homestead with the toddler, enable the daddy or somebody else carry the toddler. bypass right into a sepearte room with the canines and supply him some lovings and interest for a couple of minutes. placed him on a leash and enable somebody or the daddy carry the toddler and introduce him slowly to the toddler on an identical time as he's on a leash. once you have the toddler homestead with you, additionally determine you supply a definite little time on your canines...supply him some lovings for a couple of minutes an afternoon.
