Iam am not a doctor. I don't believe anyone who has responded yet is, therefore, be cautious of taking advice from someone who just wants to share an opinion.
Let's look at what you are drinking approximately 36 oz. of per day. It is water (good), acid (not good), and artificial sweetner which some studies show to be a health risk, and others show that it really has no health risk. Some believe it is better than natural sugars, and some believe natural sugars would be better for you.
My suggestion? Drink what you know is good for you. Try drinking water. Check this, but I believe if you take your weight, (let's assume 100 lbs) divide by 2 which equals 50, you should drink approximately 50 ounces of water. (About four 12 oz cans, for comparison).
Perhaps try limiting yourself to 1 can of soda, and drink more water. At least your mind will be more at ease, and who knows, the worse thing that can happen is you'll feel good.

Diet coke is NOT unhealthy. In terms of weight gain, it contains virtually no calories. You could drink 20 cans a day and you wouldn't gain weight. A standard can of coke contains around contains 142 Calories whereas a diet coke contains just around 1.3 Calories
It doesn't contain sugars, only artificial sweeteners so it doesn't have the teeth-rotting effects of standard coke.
The sweetener, aspartame, contained in coke HAS been linked to claims of increased risk of various diseases. However, there is a lot of controversy about this. Some studies in mice and rats (using high doses) have indicated it may increase cancer risk, but studies of human populations have shown no effect at all.

Any pop or soda is questionable. The main reason is that they are carbonated with carbonic acid. This lowers the body's pH. Your body, in order to neutralize this will take calcium out of the bones if neccessary. That is not a good long term strategy. The other consideration is the artificial sweetener. While the negative effects continue to be refuted, people still feel the effects. We such and effect in our family last year. My wife, who is nursing, started consuming something with this artificial sweetener. Our infant started breaking out in red blotches. It took him several weeks to clear up.
My suggestion is to drink water, clear clean water, not tap water.

I do not think so, but you should try to limit caffeine and sodium intake. Caffeine leads to dehydration (it forces the body to expel more fluid throught the urinary tract) and sodium can be dangerous in high quantities. A few Diet Cokes alone wouldn't give you sodium poisoning, but in conjunction with other foods (most foods we eat have high levels of sodium) it might. Also, it is best just to drink water. Sodas DO NOT provide proper hydration.

Diet cola is not unhealthy per say. It contains aspartame which the body has a hard time breaking down. Regular cola has just sugar which the body is able to break down more easily than the aspartame.

yeah they use sweetners in it which really arent good for you. im sure they use aspartum (think ive spelt it wrong tho) in it which can do stuff to your brain - google it. infact all artificial sweetners are bad for you.
definatly cut back on the coke, im sure i read somewhere that it prevents you from absorbing calcium (something to do with not letting you absorb vitamin D which you need to absord calcium)

It is really bad for teeth and is a risk factor for bone calcium loss. You should really be taking in calcium and vitamin D at this age.
