I know that you should not have your front door and back door lined up to allow good chi to come in the front and right back out. I have just purchased a house and my front door is in direct line with my patio door at the other end. Major renovations are not an option right now so how can I protect myself and what can I put in place to stop the flow of chi escaping through my back door. Thank you for your time.

remedies in fengshui are like temporary solutions; but i need to emphasize that remedies do not make a bad thing good, it just make it less bad. and in reality the bad is still there, until you correct it.
put a cement/ solid wall outside your backdoor, so as if to stop the chi from going out. the chi will still go out, just not that fast. again, it doesn't make your case any better.

Use a series of mirrors so to enhance the flow in the right directions. Or simply put up a no exit sign and lock the patio door.

nobody is going away through your back door except your money if you believe in these fake things.Feng Shui has captured the market for the last few years. What was happening before that.? Nobody except some few used to follow it and stayed in their houses as they should be.Do u believe that none of them lived happily in their entire life? believe me or not , these things only make men unhappy and superstitious about their happy new home. What happen if ?Will you ask your non-believer landlord to change all of them for your sake?or try to find out that much -sought -after perfect rented house for your entire life? Every man / woman has some kind of problem in life. At least they thought that they have.Nobody is totally satisfied in life. Then is it because every home is imperfect?We all know Happiness, peace, wealth, health come from their true original sources,Keep them fortified.everything will be yours.
