Invest in lots of storage containers. Keep everything in a place and do not hold on to anything that might be 'junk'. Get some shallow long containers that fit under your bed.
Depending on how old you are, you might want to look into how college dormitories are organized. If you are a younger adult/teenager, you could consider lofting your bed (raising it up like a bunk bed, but putting a desk or other furniture underneath to create more room) If you do loft your bed, be sure to have someone help you to make sure its sturdy.
Also if you have a closet, invest in some good shelving and containers for that. Have everything color coded or labled for easy access so you dont have to dig through everthing to find it.
BEST OF LUCK!

Young lady. use some elbow grease and some imagination!
u could try weeding out stuff that is obsolete and sell it
on eBay maybe. or u could try storing it somewhere like a loft or attic if u have one. failing that you will have to stack upwards. Like in America where they build upwards to accommodate extra persons! you could also try re-designing ur room! 4.5m sounds not too bad really at all!
try doing some Technical Drawing, i.e do a plan of the room and re-fit the furniture and stuff.
have a look here

Get lots of shelves and put your stuff in stackable boxes. Then label them if you can't remember what is in each one. Only stack them 2 rows high, or as I found out, it's a pain to get to the bottom.

get some cupboards, and use them! or else (or, additionally) clear out any things now unnecessary.
