I was laying in bed talking on my cell phone, my dog (female boston terrier) was laying right up against me. I went to scratch my leg and I felt something funny and I looked at my hand and it was dog poop, I jumped up and there was a small area of dog poop, it wasn't there before and she was sleeping the whole time.
It worries me a little because there has been other times this happened. Help!

I'm trying to rule out possibilities before taking her to the vet. Over a month ago she had tapeworm and was being treated for that. I'll have a talk with the vet, she goes in wed anyway to have stitches taken out since she just got spayed 3 days ago. I just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas of what could probably be causing this.

Dog dreams?
I could imagine two reasons:
1) the ring muscle is worn out, which is supposed to hold the content until a proper time. This would be a case for Calcium Fluoratum in homeopathy.
2) The nerves operating this ring muscle are numbed. This happens when the dog is too acidic. More alkaline-forming dog food or better some cooked wild rice in the dog's food may help.
You may want to make your vet aware of these possibilities, may be one applies.

Take her to the vet. The sooner you get her in, the smaller the problem may be and the easier to treat.
