I think you should go to the doctor immediately, any kind of chest pain is not good, especially when you breathe deeply. Go get yourself checked out.

Let's review - you have a dull, continuous pain at the left chest for three days. You did not report that anything made it better or worse. You do not have breathlessness, fatigue, or radiating pain. I suspect you also do not have diaphoresis (profuse sweating), or nausea/vomiting or you would have said so. Two separate EKG's have been performed and both failed to demonstrate a pattern consistent with ischemia or injury (the stuff that causes heart pain). If you went to a hospital, they certainly also drew blood and your enzymes were negative for cardiac injury too, or you would have been admitted. Cardiac chest pain usually is prompted with increased activity or emotional upset (fight with the wife, etc) and is improved with rest. The exception is a very serious full out heart attack which, if it were that, would have showed up on the EKG and/or enzymes, especially with over a period of time. Risk factors for heart disease are advanced age, smoking, high blood pressure, high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol - along with a positive family history of heart attacks at a young age. It sounds as though you have been evaluated for cardiac chest pain - and the evaluation was negative - twice, from two independent sources. There are very few absolutes in this world, but this one sounds pretty certain...its not your heart. You are concerned because you don't understand what else could cause pain like that. Secondly, I would bet that you are anxious about the idea of smoking...my sins have now come to reap my just consequences. I agree, do stop smoking. But for goodness sake, stop obsessing about your dull ache. If it doesn't work itself out after a couple weeks, return for further evaluation. I otherwise would take no further action. Good luck.

sounds like pleurisy.
The hallmark of pleurisy is severe chest pain that starts suddenly. The pain is often strong or stabbing when you take a deep breath. It usually subsides or disappears between breaths. It's usually felt on one side of the stomach area or lower chest. Deep breathing and coughing often make it worse. You may also have a fever, pain when moving, or fast, shallow breathing. Typically, you will be able to point to the exact location of the pain. In some people, the pain spreads to the neck, shoulder, or abdomen.
caused by swelling and irritation of the membrane that surrounds the lungs. It is usually a symptom of another illness. It is also called Pleuritic Chest Pain.

Sounds like the same pain which is irritation of an intercostal
(between the ribs) nerve and can be from injury, hard coughing, slipped spinal disc, pleurisy (pneumonia), etc. If you have no fever or other symptoms you can try heat, pain pills and time. If it doesn't start improving in a week or you develope other symptoms, see a Doctor

Well definitely if is not too important shouldn't be bothering you for that long, sometimes i feel that but i know is some gas or i know exactly my muscles just hurt for exercising, but if this is not your case i will take a pain killer first and if it doenst work until tomorrow go check it up. Sometimes we sleep in weird positions for example your neck could hurt due to a bad sleeping position but you know that is why is hurting, if as far as you know you havent done anything that could cause this pain go check it up anyways, good luck!

If it is persistant (if you have the same problem tomorrow) then you should definately see a doctor. Heart attacks can have different symptoms in different people. Also it could be a lung problem, the pain being caused by difficulty breathing. Keep monitoring it and if it gets worse see a doctor.

Could be indigestion/ gas, try Maalox if you think it might be. Maybe you pulled a muscle? Have you had a cold/ cough that it could be pneumonia? Also sometimes air/fluid gets trapped between the lining
of the lung. If you feel pressure in your chest. If it persists you'll need a chest xray.

It is common in winter that some pple that gets so much cold or have been outside in so much cold, gets some liquid in lungs.. The symptoms are almost as the ones you have. Anyways....I dont want you to be scared, bcoz i'm not a doctor, but i think that the best, for you be calm, is to consult with your doctor and he/she will tell you if is important or not
By the way....Why did u come here asking us, that arent doctors, instead to go directly to him/her??
that is what i should have done if in the same situation.
Good luck , and wish the doctor gives you good news. !!!!!!!!

Fat clogs arteries, inturn which cause pain and maybe lead to heart attack and stoke. I would start taking a plain asprin a day before you eat anything with your doctors permission. Next I would look at what you are eating and if it contains fat elminate it from your meals. Get as much excercise as you can and proper sleep and see your doctor and keep him informed as to what is happening with you. Ok good luck

YES! Take a heat pack, put it on your chest. Then switch with a cold pack (or ice). After rub some vicks vaporub on it and go to sleep. This routine should help. My mom is a nurse and she does it to her patients. It's just like your going to the doctor's office without paying!
