Let's just say I eat alot of top ramen because it is cheap and fast. But what are some ways to make it taste better? Ingrediants to add, ways to cook, etc.?

I buy the Purdue Chicken pieces that are already cooked. I throw them right in about 1 minutes before the noodles are done. Then I drain off the broth and slap some butter on top.

Or, buy some sesame seeds and soy sauce. Dump the broth, add some butter the seeds and soy while the noodles are steaming hot!

So. Many. Carbs. No, it's really not a healthy thing to be eating. I'm presuming you have at least one day a week that you're working/schooling less than a whole day. If you don't, seriously arrange it. You'll go crazy otherwise. Anyway, if you cook a big batch of rice and beans you can eat various things made with those all week that are super quick and easy. Ok, mainly I'd be eating burritos, but still. Those are pretty reasonable, especially if you cut up some veggies like lettuce and tomato to go in them. Dry beans and rice are really super cheap too. Also, if you remember to soak the beans the night before (5 min. maximum time commitment), you can boil them while you're studying at home (another 5 min to toss them on the stove, then about an hour of studying time before you even need to think about them again). Rice is pretty similar. Cut a whole bunch of veggies (carrots, celery and mushrooms are fairly inexpensive) or buy frozen veggies (also fairly cheap), and some stock (or boullion, which is cheaper), and you can make an easy bean soup. If you get a whole chicken and simmer it, you've got chicken stock, and chicken meat that should last you most of a week. Turn that into soup or use it to cook your rice and beans. Also, get a crock pot. Use it to cook the really cheap cuts of beef and you'll have amazing beef roasts and leftover beef that will, again, last you probably at least a week. Freeze some of it if you don't want to eat beef all week. You can also use the crock pot to cook soups and stews all day, as well as a huge multitude of other things. I like to cook a whole chicken in the crock pot (highly recommend skinning it first), let it cook all day, then cover it with water and let it cook all night. In the morning, strain all the chicken bits out, throw in a bunch of vegetables and the leftover meat from the chicken, and when you get home that night throw some noodles in for 10 or 15 minutes and you've got chicken noodle soup. Edit: crock pots are really easy to find at second hand stores. The last two I got were $5. Granted they only lasted about a year, but still. $5. Again, if you plan your meals (did I mention that this is SUPER important?), you can do all your prep work in an hour or two one day a week, eat good foods, and save crapstacks of money. Also, yes those instant noodles will probably end up making you gain weight if you keep eating them every day.

It will not take this long, but put some olive oil and margarine in a pan (about 1 tbls each); chop up a small onion and add some ground beef, chicken, fish or whatever.
Please try to remember to add some Whestershire sauce to it, just a little dab at a time and other spices. Do this in bunches and freeze it in portions.
OK, when your Top Ramen is done, drain it off. Put your reserved meat mixture on it and top it with cheese. Waalaa you have a meal in a minute

First, THROW AWAY the flavor packet and use chicken broth, beef, broth, or your own favorite broth instead. Or try almost any kind of liquid-ish soup, like tomato, for instance.

Put the uncooked noodles in the bottom of a 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup. Then toss in some chopped ham or chicken (coooked), green peppers, some chives, a dash of red pepper, bacon-bits, or whatever else is handy. Then add the pre-reduced broth until it's just shy of the top of the noodles cover with plastic wrap, and cook on high in a microwave about 2 1/2 minutes or until it boils. Let stand for a minute or two.

O.k I love top ramen and i make my really really good, plus my dad is a cheff so i kinda of learn,

steps :

first boil haft water and haft milk and some butter that way your soup will be creamier, second put the spagetti and the flavor packet , then cut some meat (not raw), ham and trow it in ther so you can have something to chew, then pour some sesame oil and soy souce, that makes the soup taste like a real soup. I put a little bit of tabasco so it has the spicy flavor and i put some cheese in it, i know it sounds stupid but it taste good, and by the way the cheese has to be the ones that melt ans since the soup is hot the cheese will melt. I like it it's up to you.
Good luck

Chinese Noodle Stirfry

Ingredients

50g noodles
4 sliced mushrooms
large handful brocolli
6 cherry tomatoes
12 mange touts (cut in half)
1cm square cube ginger sliced
finely sliced chilli
soy sauce
olive oil
1 tsp boullion powder

Chop the vegetables. Heat the oil in a pan and put in the vegetables with the ginger and chilli and fry gently for 5 minutes.

Put the noodles in a pan with the specified amount of water. Add the boullion powder and stir.

Add the soy sauce to the vegetables and continue to simmer. When the noodles are nearly ready add them and the remaining water to the vegetable mix and stir throughly. Once all the water has disappeared serve. If you like it extra spicy add some black pepper.

I used to:

1) cook it, drain water, add butter and flavor packet, stir...and eat.

2) cook it, take can of mixed vegetables, drain them, add to the ramen noodles, makes like a soup.

I watch my nieces and nephews eat them damn noodles all the time. You can add a lil bit of olive oil to the water when you put it the microwave also some garlic powder or lemon pepper with some parsley flakes and some provolone cheese or cheese of your choice. When adding other seasonings try not to add that entire pack of sodium that come with it. Also try Italian sausage links or the Bob Evans Italian breakfast sausage.

Boil the noodles til done. Then, drain them and dry in a paper towel or towel. Add your favorite oil in a wok or pan (mine is olive oil) sesame, & peanut oil work well too and add a change up in flavor... fry the noodles to soft or crispness of your choice (I like it crispy), then, take them out and season with salt to taste! YUMMY!!! You can also toss in your fav veggies & meats as well. Makes an excellent snack or side dish!
