Is there any student loans for international students without signing on with a US cosigner...but at a higher interest rate?

Yes, there is an offer from the Global Student Loan Corporation at www.gslc.com. But they do offer loans for special Universities only. I tried this possibilty also, but I'm not attending the right College, unfortunately.

I'm an international student also. Try to apply for scholarships too. There are some good search engines:
www.fastweb.com
www.internationalscholarship.com
www.scholarshipexperts.com
www.collegetoolkit.com
www.collegeboard.com
and many others.

Unless international students don't have a us-citizen as cosigner, it's almost impossible to get a loan.

I wish you good luck.

Sallie Mae International offers credit-based loans to international students - no cosigner necessary, but you do need good credit. http://www.salliemae.com/international

Sorry - unless you are a perm resident you can skip out on the loan so no bank or credit union will lend to you. You have no collateral as you are on a student visa.
