What are the lightbulbs called that last longer and save on energy, rather than using a regular bulb?

The kind that screw into a regular bulb socket are called compact fluorescent bulbs. Normal fluorescents are tubular, either straight or circular.

energy saving lightbulbs...they consume less electricity but can give u bright illumination...say example it is 15W only but has a light equivalent to 75W regular bulb....

"money" because if you break one you will have to call in a hazmat team to clean up the mercury. these new lightbulbs are a scam just like everything else.

sorry..I have forgotten the exact terminoligy....they are energy conserving florescent bulbs built with a screw in base/adaptor.......said to last 5 to 7 yrs..........under normal conditions.
