For the longest time I rejected the teachings of the Bible due to the bazaar and incredible nature of the stories. They looked like fairytales to me.

Then I learned about evolution and then imagined genesis and other parts being evolution interpreted in a way for primitive societies to understand. Then it all made sense! God wasn't crazy after all so he must be real! Then I began having communion with the divine and eventually accepted Jesus.

If I don't believe in literal creationism, am I damned nonetheless?

The Christian Church once believed the earth was flat--sitting on pillars-as stated in the Bible--Jesus himself pointed out where the Old Testament was completely wrong-eg--"an eye for an eye"--was wrong--divorcing your wife by a personal letter was wrong--stoning an adultress to death was wrong--etc--the proof of evolution is overwhelming--Christ said your relationship with you fellow man is the sole core of salvation--so--no--you ain't heading for hell by not believing in ancient myths--:]

If Jesus is your Lord, you're going to heaven. There are bunches of things in the Bible that Christians disagree on. But that won't keep you out of heaven.

Personally, I believe the literal interpretation of creation. God made the plant life on one day, and animal life on another day. From my understanding of biology, I think the earth could survive one day with all plants and no animals. I don't think it would for millions of years.

Why would you be damned for not believing in a literal creation? People are damned for wickedness. There is no indication in Scripture whatsoever that any dogma is necessary to salvation, least of all a literal view of the creation account in Genesis. You are absolutely right that it presents an allegorical account of theistic evolution.

No
The main point is that you have accepted Jesus into your heart. To me, these are the little things in the Bible to help you to understand what God's powers are. The Bible holds alot of history and alot of Science(yes dare I say it but it is there written in black and white) to help you get the back ground of what God was dealing with when it comes to us as a human race.

NO, you will not be damned if you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ. "Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven". Christians are a work in progress as far as our spiritual growth. Who knows, maybe you'll change your mind about the Book of Genesis. Regardless, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you have the hope of salvation. Not because I say so, but because the Bible says so. Check it out for yourself.

Apparently all you need to do is accept Jesus as God and you can do anything else you want to in life - Heaven is a lock.

Hell doesn't exist, so you don't have to worry about that. Heaven doesn't either. Neither does god, so if you just eliminate those beliefs from your life, you'll feel a lot better. As a bonus, you'll live a fuller and more productive life.

only God knows if you are damned or not,
but you cannot say you believe in God
but not in His Word.
That is calling God a liar, which of course He is not.
who wants a liar for a god?

absolutely not... God can use many different things, even things that are necessarily wrong and/or bad like evolution to shed light on the truth and bring people to Him.

I congratulate you on your intelligence and your superior wisdom in making this decision. You are no longer deceived... well done.
