The primary difference between the two churches is the issue of the pope's infallibility. The Greek Orthodox Church does not believe the pope is infallible. Those in the Orthodox church believe the pope is "first among equals.'' In the Orthodox Church, decisions and power are vested not in a single person but in a decision-making body called a synod. The decisions of the synods are infallible.

The leader of the Greek Orthodox Church is Bartholomew, the archbishop of Constantinople and the ecumenical patriarch.
''He's just a man,'' said the president of Kimisis' parish council. ''He's the highest bishop, but he's a man. He can make mistakes.''

The Roman Catholic Church believes Mary, the mother of Jesus, was born without original sin. The Greek Orthodox Church believes Mary was born just like everybody else. But because of her virtues and because of the holy life she lived, she was selected to be Christ's mother.

There also are differences in the two churches regarding the Holy Spirit and purgatory. And in the Greek Orthodox Church, priests can marry.

The Orthodox and the Roman Catholic churches use the same gospels in their services. And while they celebrate Christmas at the same time, they use different methods to calculate Easter.

In the Orthodox faith, the priest can say only one divine liturgy each day.

i think you mean the roman catholics and greek orthodox catholics, if so then the main difference between orthodox and roman catholics is that the roman catholics see the pope as christs successor, and is the head of his visible church on earth whereas the orthodox catholics do not. you can search on google, just type roman catholic, or orthodox catholic to get more on the beliefs,in general we believe the same thing, ie the eaucharist, saints etc....but like i said the main difference is from the pope,i am roman catholicif that helps.

The special ministry of Saint Peter.

The Greek Orthodox are more nationalistic than Catholicism. They want a national Bishop as leader.

Catholic believe the Pope is the unique leader of Christianity over ALL the other Bishops worldwide.

BOTH ARE CHRISTIAN! My goodness we are first cousins in Christ!

The first followers of Jesus were of a Jewish sect who became best friends with the Roman empire who had strong pagan belief and those beliefs became entwined with Christianity. King James Version of the true bible didn't help, added a lot of words that are not true. Like the "virgin" birth mentioned in Isaiah, in Hebrew it actually means young woman. And that lucifer part...

Something is really trying to stop the true word of Jesus like he said...maybe he really is the son of God (sent by God) but all these things blur his image...
