You cat needs a little check-up to rule out upper respiratory infection. Otherwise, kitty will get over just like we do.
I am not sure if these viruses can travel between animals and humans. I have a nasty cold right now, will not sneeze anywhere near my kitty just in case.

Cats get colds just like we do, I give them more water when they have a cold and if there lungs sound bad and they have lots of stuff coming out of their noses, they go to the vet. Respirtory colds can set in and last a long time in cats so I would get it treated if you notice it lasts longer than a about four days, and they have mucous coming out of their noses and eyes. Poor kitty good luck

They can definitely get colds. They usually need to be seen by your vet, as they usually need an antibiotic. Once they get the upper respiratory problem, they usually stop eating as their sense of smell is not there, and that is basically how cats have the desire to eat.

Sounds like cat flu. They get it from other cats, in kennels or from close contact with infected cats.. Trip to the vets required.

yes they can ...esp.if they are outside out and
it also could be that they are allregic to something in the house or outside that can make the cat cough and sneeze just like a human.

The vet will give you some antibiotics to help get over it. But you can give the cat some vitamins and good food to help. Nutra Cal is a good vitamin supplement.
