First of all, who cares if he was raised in the muslim faith or if he was even a practicing Muslim? Since when has the United States started discriminating against religion? Just because he is or was raised in Muslim faith doesn't make him a terrorist. That's like saying that all Christians are closet gays like Ted Haggard.
Secondly,If you do a little more digging, you'll find that his parents were actually atheists, but sent him to a Catholic and Muslim schools because they were excellent schools.
A quote from Obama himself, " My mother was much less concerned with me learning my Catechism than she was that I learned my multiplication tables"

So why all the uproar about his early education and upbringing?

The US has discriminated against religions for a very long time now. There was a huge fuss when Kennedy (the first Catholic president) ran for office.

But regarding Obama, he's a black man. People don't dare to come out and say they would never vote for a black man - so they find other crap. Muslim is easy because even the government says we should hate Muslims. Sad.

Obama is certainly qualified and his ideals are good. I couldn't care less his skin color or religion or gender.

As a conservative Republican, I think Obama is a smart move for the Democrats! Young, black, energetic, and charismatic!

For the record...I do not agree with his political views or positions one bit, but he seems like a decent family man. I could listen to his views and opinions on things with open ears and mind. I think he is sincere on his beliefs even though they differ with mine pretty extensively.

His early education is a Clinton smear tactic! This man will be brought low by the Clinton machine...without question they will take him out of the game.

Their attacks are just the beginning, no matter if the people of different stripes like him or not. He will be put asunder by the Clintons.

He had schooling in the madrases that teach the type of hate that leads to terrorism in Indonesia. Don't know if that would effect him now or not. But I certainly question it and that means that we have better choices.
