yes male cats are very territorial, even if they've been neutered, they will do the rounds in the garden and spray. If another male comes in the garden our neutered tom is straight out there ready for a scrap but if they run he'll spray all over where the other cat was. Some dominant females are similar in their behaviour but it's normally the males who do this. Cats get possessive about their owners, depends on the cat's personality. Some will object to a partner of the opposite sex and use all kinds of tactics to keep 'their owner' from what they see as a rival in his exclusive rights to attention.

I doubt your cat is gay. If Cody isn't neutered he's sufficiently previous to have reached sexual adulthood and could attempt to hump any cat he can. you should get him neutered if he's not already. If he's fastened then he's merely attempting to verify dominance over your different cat. As for the licking, cats that are acquaintances groom one yet another to exhibit affection. it would not count number in the adventure that they re male or woman. maximum cats do not want to get dirty, cats are very tidy creatures, and some do exactly not want to play hard. that would not recommend he's female.

Sounds like he wasn't socialized as a kitten. Go to a feline cat web site and see what they recommend. Also just for the heck of it leave some toys around with the scent of other cats on them and see if that might help him get used to other animals. I have to look this one up for you thats a tough one, Some cats are like dogs when it comes to territory. If I find out more info I'll let you know.

My cat is like yours. Neutered, fiesty, king of his domaine attitude. However, he goes into other yards and checks out other cats. Its a game he plays. God forbid if one should come into our yard. He even attacks dogs that come to close to our house.

Sigh . . . your cat will get bitten from time-to-time and will develop absceses (very large lumps containing matter that are infections from fighting). This is inevitable but not life threatening.

Next time you go to your vet ask how to deal with these.

The water spraying is harmless, your neighbours ought to relax a little as cats will do whatever they want to do.

Don't get caught trying to break up a fight. You may get hurt.

Your cat is definitely defending his territory from the intruders. Using the hose on the neighbors cats is perfectly acceptable. It usually works to keep them out and doesn't harm them.

Female cats react the same way. Both my male and female cat will spray the fence when the neighbor's cat is close to it. The can't get at each other - cat fence-in keeps my cats on their side and keeps the neighbor's cat from getting in.

yes though the size of its territory varies by breed and how well it is fed. the better you feed him the less distance he will travel to hunt

as a general rule a female cats travel further than males whatever the circumstance.

cats ARE possessive over humans. that thing they do where they rub their heads on you all cutesy, they have scent glands under their chins. you might think hes saying he loves you but really hes telling you he owns you

Cats are extremely Territorial, especially male cats. If your cat has already been spayed there is nothing else you can do other than what you are already doing. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful

it all depends on the breed. but yes a lot of male cats are very territorial and protective, especially of their owners. there is nothing wrong with this, and i would take it as a compliment. your cat loves you and is trying to take care of you. i used to "cat-sit" for my neighbor a couple years ago. she had 3 male shorthaired domestics (not sure of exact breeds) and they were all very territorial of their home and owner at first. when they warmed up to me, they became very territorial of me as well.
