11 months ago i ran into this guy and we really hit it off.I was still bitter about catching my ex of a few years cheating(they r mutual freinds)he listened and understood,he drove me home that night and i invited him to stay,i asked him to sleep in the bed with me,he did,i asked him to put his arm around me,he did till i slept,he was such a gentlman.things were awkward when he left the next morning,a mutual friend told me he liked me but was freaked out by my ex(who was trying to get me back)i saw him again 2 months later,he came to me and said"your killing me"my ex was also there and freaking out that we liked eachother,so i left where we were and this guy called me and told e i was so beautiful and asked me to go out on his boat in the summer.i sent him a text a couple weeks later and he never replied.I saw him at a party 6 months later,he walked in saw me and looked away quick.later in the night we made eye contact and smiled.i still think about him.

It sounds like your ex is still running your love life. If the guy you like really likes you he wouldn't let your ex stop him from seeing you. Unless he just scare of him. Sound to me either you go ahead and date this guy or find yourself another guy that doesn't have any ties to your friends.

Get your ex completely out of your life. It sounds like he's controlling you, and that is not right.

You have every reason to call the new guy, go out, and have fun.

I don't know it could end up awkward. But you have to think carefully what you want. You see if you don't go then you will always be wondering what could of happened. Maybe if you go and it does not work then you know and will forget about him quicker. But if you don't then he will always be in your mind. Just follow your heart, it is always the best. Good-luck. No, I wouldn't go. If he doesn't have the guts to tell his friend (your ex) that he likes you, then he probably doesn't, he just wants some action.

He may have moved on - but go for it - nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.
