So, I really like this guy, let's call him Bob, but he didn't even really know who I am until last night when I called him to tell him I like him. But a bunch of other girls like him too and I'm not sure that I can compete with them. He's not dating anyone right now, but the girl he's liked most of the year now thinks she kinda likes him too. Two of my friends like him too and I don't want to hurt their feelings by possibly snagging him when at least one of them doesn't really have a chance (he said so himself---he just wants to keep her a friend). He's really sweet, but we've never talked until last night. We talked for about an hour and a half and I like him even more than I did 24 hours ago.
What should I do next? My friends think that I should just take my time and keep my hopes up, but I don't know if I should act or take things really slowly.

Be confident, show him your interest, smile at him, look him straight at his eyes and wait for his move! I'm sure he feels like for you! Don't feel sorry for your friends you just express him your feelings he will make a choice. Don't think that he is too good for you because he is popular you deserve the best ! Good luck!

I say you should really get to know him more. If that night was the only time you really talked to him, it's too soon. Then again if you go too slowly, he won't wait around for you. Make sure this isn't just a small crush because he's cute. When you really feel the courage and confidence that asking him out is the right choice, go right for it. You'll never know unless you try.
