S.H.A.R.E- Secular Humanist Action Relief Efforts. Although there are agnostics and nontraditionally spiritual people who are also Humanists. If you are looking for a place donate to those suffering from disasters like the tsumani in Asia or Hurrican Katrina here in the US they would be a good fund to give to.

If you are like some others I've seen here suggesting Atheists aren't charitable I would say this is an unfair characterization. As a nonreligious person I also contribute to charities which are not directly affiliated with religion but are not specifically atheist charities either. I would imagine many people who aren't religious and donate money do so. Remember Atheists haven't had local community groups like religious people have Churchs.

atheist do not necessarily meet in a forum and form a coalition per se, as does the church. We don't meet every week, tithe to the group in which we belong, etc.
Most of us do not belong to any type of formal organization that is representative of the atheist community. Sure there are some. But many, like me, are not a member of any group.
I give to a numerous amounts of charities and local educational organizations, but you never hear about in the news. I only donate 50 to 100 at a time, several times per year. Not a pat on the back, but just making my point.

Atheist Centre of India
The Atheist Centre was founded in 1940 by the Gora family, who were associated with Ghandi and the nationalist movement for freedom. They provide counseling, are fighting against the caste system and for the abolition of child marriages, helping ex-prostitutes, and protecting widows from inhumane customs. They also dispell superstitions by scientific demonstrations, and are asked to calm witchcraft hysterias. They provide sex education and family planning, are carrying on a rural development program, and have a center for free cornea grafting operations which is giving sight to the blind.

Atheist Charity
This is a new, small charity run by atheist volunteers. They currently give money to other charities for the poor, are involved in forming a non-discriminatory alternative to the Boy Scouts, and later will start natural disaster relief projects.

Your question is rather broad....

I suppose the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation could be considered an "charity funded by atheists".

While I do not know if he founded a charity, Warren Buffet donated $37 billion to charity.

The biggest charity set up by an athiest is Buddhism. Buddha was enlightened when he realized that what is in you is you, and all the meditation done makes you a better person ... not to go to heaven but just to give you peace. No where in Buddhism does it states that there is a god that needs to be worshiped. It states that doing good, having humility, and non-violence gives you a peace of mind and makes you a better person.

Here's a link to a list of atheist organizations, including civil rights and charitable organizations. Most charity is in the form of individual donations and comes from all sorts of people.

world wildlife fund? red cross? doctors without borders? oxfam? are you looking for places to donate money that don't require recipients of charity to be subjected to missionaries? There are a lot, just look.

but if you're looking for charities that are run exclusively by people who claim to be atheist, that is a totally different question and I cannot help you there.

Atheists are not a homogenous group. How do you know that there aren't already atheists working for charities now? Have you checked? Or is this just another challenge question, i.e., not really a question, but a statement followed by a question mark.
