I know I am going to hear babies do things at different rates but at what age did your children walk? Is it something I did or didnt do? She can stand and stay balanced but for some reason just prefers to plop back down and crawl...

I do put her favorite things at a slight difference and she just plops down and crawls for it. She has great balance

I'm a mother of 3 and a day care teacher of one year olds. LOTS of babies don't walk at 13 months. She'll probably start walking by about 15 months. But I have seen a few perfectly normal babies who didn't walk til closer to 18 months. Just make sure you are taking her to her well baby checks, so the doctor can monitor her development. Like another lady mentioned, there could be ear pressure that's effecting her balance. It's also very common for a baby to start walking within a few days of getting tubes in the ears.
It's good that you are concerned. Keep watching her. But it's pretty normal for a baby to not be able to walk at this age. She sounds like she's right on track.

I have 2 boys ages 4 and 2. Both started walking at different ages. My oldest started walking around 12 months, and my 2 year old was very independent and started walking around 11 months. My brothers son was born a month before my oldest and he didnt start walking til he was almost 16 months. You are right it just depends on the baby, but it helpes if you encourage her. Hold her hands and let her walk around with you behind her and when she stands up praise her so she knows she doing a good job. I know its hard to watch your kid not do stuff that other kids are doing but just be patient she will in her own time I promise.

She will do it in her own time. My son is 15 months and still doesn't walk. Nothing you did or can do will really influence this. You sound like a good, caring mother. If you are worried, take her to the doc. It never hurts to be sure and if it makes you feel better, I'd do it. However, if your little voice is telling you something is wrong, definitely take her. It sounds like she is able to get what she wants and that's the important milestone, not the actual walking. As far as my son goes, I keep saying - Why walk when your daddy will carry you everywhere! Good luck!

even after my son learned to take about 8 or 9 steps and then fall, he still preferred to plop and crawl. it will only be about another month before she will be all over the place.

My first daughter walked at 15 months and I have a 14 month old that isn't walking yet. It's true, they will do it when they're ready... all you can do is encourage them and reward them when they try. I practice with her as long as she thinks it's fun, and as soon as she gets tired of it, we stop. I know, it's the biggest milestone transitioning from babyhood to toddlerhood, and we as parents tend to get anxious for them to do things, but soon you will be chasing her everywhere and wishing you could just carry her around! LOL I know what you're going through, I am anxious, but yet not!

They say that if your baby isn't walking by 15 months, then take him/her in for tests. My daughter walked at 8 months; I know that won't make you feel any better, but her speech was delayed. Some kids just do things before others. Make sure you aren't using a walker, as this can delay walking and is dangerous.

My son walked the day after his 1st birthday. And that is b/c we have always held him by his hands and walked him around and that night we both sat down and let him walk to us.. and we kept getting further apart to let him have more distance to get us... the next day he just got up and started toddling around... after that I don't think I have ever seen him crawl. lol Yes babies do things at different ages, for example my son is 18 months and won't talk at all.. he says momma and dada sometimes.. but otherwise he just screams and yells at things that he wants.. we tell him what it is and give it to him, but i know he will talk on his own one day.... but there isn't something you didn't do... you can try what my husband and I did or just walk her around the house by the hands... she might just prefer to crawl around still.. goodluck
