Believe me, unless you look like Philis Diller or something you won't seem like you're desperate. showing someone that you have an affection for them doesn't make them think you're desperate. In fact, most of the time it won't even inter their mind.
Just go for it and don't worry about it. If he's interested he will be happy to take you out and that will be the ONLY thing on his mind.

You need a little sass! JUST DO IT! Flirt shamefully. What do ya got to lose. There's always other boys to flirt with. Life flies hon. Enjoy being young and flirty, and sassy.
When I was 13 to 20 (before my current long relationship) I was a spitfire. Flirted with everything boy and cute. I would walk up pinch a cutie real hard, he'd say "Ouch! What was THAT! Why'd you do that?" and I'd sigh and say "Hell if I know. Guess I wanted to see if you'd whimper." then give a sly devilish smile. Then wait for his next response.
Got em every time.

take it easy and never come on too strong. since you're on talking terms with this guy,you can always be more sweet to him than you are to rest of the boys and then may be he gets the hint.but the whole point is let him ask you out.its your privilege as a girl to be chased after and that way you'll even be more valued -okie.

Don't ask him out. If he can't ask you out than he probably isn't interested. Besides it is proper for guys to ask girls out, not visa versa.

ask him to something like lunch, cause girls ask guys out to things that happen during the day, and guys ask girls out to things that happen at night
