My daughter has a Lab puppy that seems to be having a tough time with teething. Is there anything that she can do to help him other then the usual chewing toys?

ICE CUBES! It numbs the gums and they love to chew on them. You can also buy frozen bones which you soak in water and freeze. Our dog wouldn't touch it but he loves the cubes...

Man labs are chewers aren't they? We have two labs- we learned from previous labs and lab mixes that you literally have to keep something in their mouths all of the time. They get board and when they are board they chew stuff, if they have tons of safe things to chew on they will be less likely to chew onyour house, socks, shoes, wallets (all things my older lab chewed)! We also have had a lot of luck with going to the butcher and asking for real dog bones or soup bones. They will chew the heck out of those-they are safe- and never allow them to carry around shoes, or other articles event hough it may look cute. They need to learn what is ok to chew. They are very smart. Everytime you take a no no thing out of their mouth say NO-bad dog and then put a bone or chew toy into their mouth and say Good DOg!! gIVE LOTS OF LOVE!

There are teething rings for puppies at pet stores that you can put in the freezer just like a baby to help them out. Make sure that he has a lot, lot of chew toys. There are other items at pet stores too that will help. Just ask the clerk for some help.

You know when the usual toys failed I hunted up an old shoe or two and that seemed to help more then anything. So in our puppys toy box were an old shoe a sock and some stuffed animals. Good Luck

A nice fresh beef marrow bone from the butcher. It will keep him entertained for hours, and help to get those adult teeth through. For my big guys, I freeze the bones and give them to them frozen. That keeps them busy and it's a good treat on a hot day.

+Freeze some water in a "puppy proof container" and let him chew on it for as long as he likes. The ice will help to numb his gums and he won't be in so much pain.

Wet down an old towel or washcloth and then freeze it. The puppy will love it until it thaws out.
