I understand your curiosity and appreciate you putting this question in the least offensive manner that Ive seen in a while. I have been an avid hunter for numerous years and am absolutley in love with the sport. What a majority of non hunters are unaware of is the fact that Hunters are the #1 conservationists in the world. This may not make sense but give me a sec. For starters, In order to hunt, we have to purchase liscenses, permits, and tags. The price of all these can cause a single hunter to spend well over $800.00 in a single season. All of this money goes towards conservation officers, stocking programs, forest preserves, and overall protection of the nature that hunters and non hunters cherish alike. In the early 1900's, the wild turkey population in the US was less than 100,000 and was only found in 3 states. Due to the stocking programs and funds provided by the National Wild Turkey Federation and other Hunter formed groups, the Wild Turkey can now be found in all 50 states (even Hawaii) and in numbers higher than 2 million. This is just one out of a thousand success stories that was mainly contributed by hunters. Hunting also allows an individual to reconnect with the outdoors in a way that many others will never be lucky enough to experience. Last bow season, I did not take a single shot. I spent more than 60 entire days from before sunrise til after sunset out in the woods. Even though I was evaded by deer the whole time, I will never forget the Great Horned Owl that decided to roost in the tree next to my stand. This was an incredible experience and made all of the money and hard work that I put into that deer season more than worth it. Hunters have such a high respect for the game that they take. Just as the native americans would give thanks to the gods for the animals they killed, many hunters do the same, but in there own ways. And not to hit below the belt or anything, but where do you think that burger you at last week came from. Society has completley severed its links with its past and believes that we are no longer part of the animal kingdom. Hunters are merely trying to reconnect those severed links.

Eating them later.

I've never seen a bejesus come out of any animal I've shot. What exactly IS a bejesus?

The next thing you vegan types will be reduced to is eating rocks and dirt. You guys slay me, you really do! Did you know that plants react to external stimuli? They feel a form of pain, so I guess you'll have to head to the local gravel pit to eat your next meal if you're so worried about "suffering".

Perhaps your "human wrongdoings" can be atoned for if you let the "furry lil' animals" eat YOU instead?

Oh, the pain! If I laugh any more, I'll have an aneuerism!

I'm not believing sunset is a hunter whatsoever......I will give him/her a congrats on knowing a lil more about wildlife than the average bunny hugger. Most bunny huggers only observe wildlife on the discovery channel. I enjoy wildlife all year as I am an outdoorsman through hunting fishing and as well as camping hiking backpacking. I hear all the time,"how can you kill something so pretty". They speak of deer and other furry lil varmints. Why doesn't anyone complain when I kill an ugly smelly slimy fish. Doesn't one life have the same value as another no matter the species? I've said enough. Aim small shoot small !!!

first off sunset if someone want to eat frozen tuna thats there problem. and not everyone can be as rich as you and go buy anything they want to eat there are poor people in this country believe me there not all as goood off as you . my buddy eats the heck outta his deer cause it is cheaper and they cant always afford to buy beef.
well i just watched a video of a mature healthy buck get taken down by a mountain lion and it held its neck for a bout 10 minutes while it was kicking and struggling for air and suffering then clamped on over its mounth and tried to crush and suffocate it for a nother ten minutes so tell me would you rather that lion do that to you or get shot humanley.
given i have made bad shots everyone has and you get a terrible sick feeling about ti but you try your best to put it down cleanly and painlessly not to mentio what is the difference ifyour eating beef or chicken or deer or elk other than the taste if your a vegetarian well thats your loss cause im a complete carnivore i hate veggies meat and potatoes hell yyeah a nice thick elk steak or nice filet mignon off a freshly killed beef by the way we own our own cattle so do you have a problem ewith ranchers too.
also coyotes will go up to a birthing cow and take the calf out while it si being born and eat it and ive seen two buck deer's antlers locked together and they have died of exhaustio starvation and even predators while they cant get freed.
ive seen a buck with its antlers locked in a tree and a predator ate it from the as* up so what do ytou think about mother nature who is far more cruel than the average hunter. weve had cows get there head caught under fencese and die from exhaustion , or cows die during labor cause the calf is to big thats hours of suffering. not to mention it is a great rush to try to out smart the animals in there habitat and they do have a complete advantage and if we didnt shoot them furry little animals well they would overpopulate. iknow a guy thats hay stack is being devoured by rabbits he has a rabbit problem thounsands of them and there ruining his crop thats how he puts food on the table over population is no good. animals can starve in the wild if they over populate in case you didnt realize that

Bejesus's are actually parasites that suck the lifeblood out of furry animals. Shooting them helps the crtitters. So that is the attraction... helping the furry little critters by killing off their parasites.

I am mainly a waterfowl hunter so for me its more of the love for a good challenge to see how my decoy spreads work. Its all about human versus nature for me. Plus its good for birds to thin them out alittle otherwise they would die of either starvation or a disease. Why not shot a few rather than loss a bunch. Either way nature will thin them down one way or another.

Everyone always has some spare ammo laying around, and it has to be used. Why not use it on some furry little animal?

They taste good. If you've never done it, don't knock it. Personally, I don't hunt much. I just don't like dragging them out of the woods. I do enjoy deer steaks in gravy, yum.
