I take Zooloft (prescribed by my psychiatrist) but man I sure don't like taking meds for anything. I am a guy; is it common in males to have driving anxiety. It's really bad. My girlfriend wants to loave me after 4 years of dealing with me - I sure don't know what to do. Suggestions are much appreciated.

Get off the Zoloft and get some therapy, it will be much more useful and less toxic to your body. I know, ive been there;

I have had panic attacks whenever I get in a car. Most of the time I have to convince myself that everything's okay. But there are times when the panic is overwhelming. Your Zoloft should be helping, you might want to try group support. I know I'm not the only one that has ever had this problem as well. I had to avoid hi-ways and freeways because of this. Talk to your psychiatrist, and see what he recommends. Good luck to you and take care. Also lay low on the caffeine, I had to really cut back on that too.

No matter waht happens with her make sure you stay on the meds and keep going to therapy, eventually you will reach a point tjhat you will no longer need either one. If she wants to leave after 4 years then let her go, maybe she is the cause of your anxiety in the first place, only one way to find out.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.

Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

I don't know how long you have been on the drugs but sometimes it takes a while for the drugs to really kick in. Until they do don't drive alone.
