As far as cost goes, it's going to vary depending on your location. Most surgerys will usually run anywhere between 100 and 300. It shouldn't be more than this. The best thing would be to call your local vets and get price estimates from them. She probablly will have to stay over night but again each vet is different. I know the doctor I work for will not let open abdominal surgerys go home the same day because he likes to make sure he can check them first thing in the morning to make sure the sincision looks ok and they aren't having any problems before he discharges the patient. Also it is easier to keep them more confined and give the doctor peace of mind knowing that the patient won't have anything happen to it over night by jumping up on something. Again all vet are different. She should be fine getting spayed at 10 months but you do stand a risk of her being in heat or starting to which can make the surgery more difficult on her and the doctor since everything is inflamed. She will be fine though.

Hi, i would esimate about $150. But that all depends on where you take her. Because she is small it will be cheaper. At the vet clinic where i work now you bring her in in the morning, they explain everything. They do surgery around 11 am then you pick her up in the evening, about 5:00. This is a good way to do things, that way you know you can keep an eye on her over night. Some clinics will keep your dog overnight. I worked at a clinic that did this, but they had a technician that stayed overnight with the dogs, let them out, checked on them every hour, make sure they were warm enough, and gave them some food. So if you end up finding a clinic like that then i would let her stay over night. But i wouldn't want my pet to stay overnight somewhere where someone wasn't there with her to watch her. Good Luck, your girl will be fine. You didn't wait to long, just the fact that you decided to spay her is Great!!!

Well, it all depend on which vet you go to. Some vets are more expensive than others, some keep them overnight and some don't.
We don't keep surgeries overnight. Once they are awake and recovered, they can go home to be with their families. Also, their owners can watch them overnight and if anything happens (bleeding, pulls out a suture, ...) they can take them to the emergency clinic.
Cost varies greatly from area to area and depending on what kind of vet you go to. Many regular vets will mark down their spays and neuters to stay competitive (we do). I would always recommend going to your regular vet who uses good anesthetic and surgical techniques. Avoid low cost clinics if you can afford it, but if that is your only option, it's better to get her spayed than not do it at all. Depending on your area of the country and city, spaying a female dog can be anywhere from $50 to $300. The only way to know is to call around and get estimates. Also ask what kind of anesthetic they use, do they monitor during and after surgery, are pain meds included, etc. It's never too late to spay your dog, though the closer you do it to 6 months of age, the better.
Your vet shouldn't require that you leave your dog overnight. Unless they are open 24 hours, there will be nobody to watch her. She would be better off at home.

It will cost somewhere around $200-300 you can call your vet for an estimate. I believe they can be spayed after six months of age. No you did not wait too long I had a dog neutered at age 4. You could ask to take the dog home that night...my mom's vet let her take her dog home that night. My vet asked my to leave mine overnight. You would not be hurting the dog but they like for it to stay overnight in case there are any complications...ie the dog gets sick.

it really depends where u take her to get spayed. if u take her to a popular place like petsmart, it's around $200. if u just take her to a vet, depending on the popularity, it ranges from $200-$50. my dog was $52. and yes, i think you waited too long. the latest a dog should be spayed/neutered is 7 mo. but later is always better than never, especially in this case. my dog stayed overnight at the vet's, but some vets allow you to take her home later in the day if u drop her off in the morning. depends really on how they're doing, if they're okay, or having some pain, etc. it's always best to leave her overnight just in case, but if she's doing fine, then it should be ok to take her home in the evening. best of luck! :-)

No, ten months is not too late, and congratulations for getting her spayed! Spaying helps to prevent some types of cancer, and you won't have to worry about her getting pregnant.
In most cases, you drop your dog off at the vet's early morning, and she will be ready to go home in the afternoon. Try to keep her quiet for a few days, and make sure she doesn't lick her stitches or get them wet, because that can cause infection.

You should be looking at around $300.00 (US) and it all depends on how the op goes to decide if the dog can go home that night. Face it. dogs cost money and you do want the best for her don't you? A 10yr old dog may run into complications being fixed at such an old age. I would pay up and let them keep her over night for observation. My vet has someone there 24/7 for just this reason.

You seem to really care about your dog! Dont worry, your dog will be fine. she probably will have to stay overnight, but all the better, because the procedure will go alot easier when the vets have time. its not going to hurt her, and she is going to be fine! 10 months is kind of old...but better spayed then never! because you are not a qualified breeder (excuse me if you are) it is a good idea to have her spayed. it is just like having an operation..the same as a human!! getting her spayed will make her safer, happier, halthier.. and mark my words, her temperment will improve when she is spayed. she wont have protective shy dispostion, which she would have if she wnet into heat. Its going to be all right! and trust me, the vets know what is best.

If she is done in the morning before nonn time then she really doesn't need to stay overnight unless there is an issue..if she is done after noon time then she may need to stay to make sure she recovers properly from the anesthesia.
If she is done late in the day there could very well be harm in taking her home earlier then the vet recommends, however find out if anyone will be there overnight to monitor if not tehn she's best to come home so she can be monitored.

being the age I'm thinking around $150. call around because some vets require that the dog stay overnight which is usually more expensive because of the boarding cost. just remember it is important for her not to be to active when you do bring her home weather it's over night or not. some vets say to crate them for 3 or 4 days afterwords which is impossible!!! i would say from my experience with puppies just to try to keep her from jumping and running around because she will develop a swollen incision due to stretching in the tissue.
