I would say, yes, unethical, its yahoo answers not yahoo masturb . .
But the question indeed is good that you have raised it,
i take it you mean overall is it right for someone to just pick whoever agrees with their "point",
I find myself today picking answers from religious people who quote the bible, because the quote was poetic and related to the question,
i guess specifically i would say this question reminds me of what we talked about in yahoo answers over a year ago when it first started,
and it was said is it ethical to vote on a question to give ourself best answer,
we decided it wasn't, people did it anyway, and in this case, it isnt life,
charachter is what we do when no one is looking,
i admit it,
in april of 06 i went and voted for myself best answer about 30 times,
now this was wrong and unethical by my answer here
i stand before you and ask what punishment should i give myself,
a good flogging,
a good talking to?
the reality is, if we give ourself best answer or vote for ourself best answer, we have too much free time,
and probably thats the bottom line,
why do we choose to spend more time here reading ourself, then reading the intelligent other people who are here

Unethical would be me dropping a Skittles into a patient during open heart surgery and leaving it there.
Giving yourself the best answer is unfair, but I don't believe its unethical. Giving yourself the best answer defeats the purpose of the points system though.

Why do you have more than one account? I would think it would be unethical - but then again I have voted from myself as best answer when my questions go into voting - some might think what I have done is unethical (although I don't - its like running of political office and voting for yourself).
Good Luck!!!

If you can do it, go right ahead. It can't be any worse than the Yahoo Nazis deleting thoughtful answers and going against their own Community Guidelines, right? If Yahoo allows it, then it's THEIR loophole.
I, however, reached Level 5 by actually answering questions and allowing others to give me best answer points. So in the end, will you have really earned it, and do YA points really mean that much to your life? It's your choice, pal.

Your participation in this type of forum is already questionable if you are using more than one account. Yes, it is unethical in the sense that Yahoo says it is agaiinst the rules to do so. So you may also consider yourself reported.

Ethical? The raw stupidity overshadows any ethical concerns. You aren't even supposed to have multiple accounts, and now Y!A may delete one or both. I suppose you will find out before anybody else...

I vote for myself as do others I'm sure and I don't think it's unethical so I don't think you'd be doing anything much worse than that.

It would be stupid. If you already know the answer to your own question, then don't ask in the first place.
