Dear Soul, Start with a visit to your eye doctor if your present vision is not normal = 20/20 vision. Perhaps you need eyeglasses or contact lens. For some near-sighted persons, laser surgery is a possibility. If you are older and possibly have a cataract in your eye lens, lens replacement is easy and quick. Meanwhile preserve the vision you have. Avoid the glare of direct sunlight, wearing protective sunglasses or tinted lenses to block out ultraviolet rays UVa & UVb. A diet of vitamin supplement with lutein helps avoid or slow down the number one cause of "legal" blindness in the USA caused by age-related macular degeneration in the retina of the eye which can be treated now by retina physician specialists. Some low-vision shops sell many products to help people with low vision, including magnifiers. For reading, make sure you have adequate light.

Most people say that carrot helps the eyes to be well. But i don't think there is a way to actually improve eye sight other than laser eye surgery.

LASIK is one of the most popular ways to correct vision with a procedure called laser in-situ keratomileusis, which uses a laser to change the curvature of the cornea (outer window of the eye). With LASIK procedure most patients recover quickly and have fewer side effects and complications than with other methods of vision correction. In fact, most LASIK patients notice a significant improvement in their vision soon after surgery. LASIK removes tissue within the cornea to treat low to high levels of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

You can find more information about the LASIK technology on the following site:

Good luck!

Vitamin A is required for good eyesight.
Its found in carrots, green leafy vegetables, yellow fruits and veggies...
As for not liking wearing specs...why don't you try contact lenses?...theyr cheaper than laser surgery....and quite "in" these days.....
Good Luck

"Lasik" eye surgery. Rather expensive. I'd do it, but for me, wearing glasses has been more cost effective.
