Why do they get black spots on the peel after some time kept outside?

It is part of the decomposition process. Once a fruit is picked from the tree, it is, or all intents and purposes, dead and thus begins to decay. The chemicals in the banana peel that make it yellow begin to break down, particularly in places where the peel has been punctured, even microscopically. This process, as the chemicals mix with oxygen, create the brown color.
Refridgeration slows down this process, but nothing can truly stop it.
