I'm that type of guy too. I wish that people would stop pressuring (or assuming) for the guy to ask the girl out. There is no reason for it, a girl should (and some do) ask the guy out if they like the person.
If he is shy and you guys like each other, what's the issue? If he is anyway like me, he would not feel at all...insulted? (I think that's the "hidden issue" in this situation) if you were the one to ask him out. If it wasn't, then what would be the issue?
I would be disappointed if you didn't ask him out. He's shy, give him...and yourself a break (or change.) They tend to be better lovers when they're shy. (Ha ha! I do believe...)

Hi.Give this some more time.Try and understand this guy better and know his likes and dislikes, his upbringing and values. Spend more time with him and the closeness and bonding will develop.Once you are more comfortable with one another, it would not be difficult for either of you to ask the other person out for a date.All the best in life ahead!!

Woopadiddy! Why of course you should ask him out. This is the 21st century and you women have just as much right to ask a guy out as the guys do. Go for it, he might just be the one for you to be with the rest of your life and you won't know for sure unless you ask him out.

I personally would rather a guy asked me out. I have never asked a guy out. Im sure it may work for some. If a guy hasnt the balls to ask me out then he aint the guy for me. If you do ask him, best wishes as i said before im sure it works for some!

Yeah it is always ok to ask out the guy because maybe he is to shy to like you said and then he will relize that he shouldve beat you to it...it will work out fine!

i think u should instead convince yalls friend to tell him to ask u out.
its not very appropiate for a gurl to ask a guy, if u ask him that kind of means that ur desperate and people are going to think that ur a slut.
