There really is no such thing as a "teacup" This is just a term irresponsible breeders use for delibrately breeding Yorkies(or other toy breeds) smaller then the standard for the breed allows.
Temeprament can be iffy due to irresponsible breeding practices. They are also very prone to heart, kidney, liver issues, short life spans and structural deformities. Some even have problems eating due to jaws, teeth being too small.
If you are interested in a Yorkie, get one from a responsible breeder, don't fall prey to the sales tactics of irresponsible breeders.

There is no such breed as a Teacup anything. Yorkshire Terrier are a small breed anyway & anyone advertising "Teacup" Yorkies is purely breeding for money, not interested in health or temperament or anything else to do with the dog's welfare. Do some research into a well bred Yorkie from a reputable breeder - they will make temperament a priority.

A Yorkie teacup seems oblivious of its small size, ever eager for adventure and trouble. It is busy, inquisitive, bold, stubborn, and can be aggressive to strange dogs and small animals in other words, it is true to its terrier heritage. Although some tend to bark a lot, it can easily be taught not to do so.
I got that from animal planet. I have a Yorkie and he is very friendly but not that much with other dogs. he is very energetic. but im guessing that it depends on the kind of person you are. i can handle my yorkie but my cousin cant do the same with hers.

teacup dogs are breeders breeding the RUNTS OF THE LITTERS. yes, the tiny, ill ones. Totally irresponsible.
I've never met a friendly yorkshire terrier in my life. Get a Cavalier King charles Spaniel. They're incredibly affectionate, without agression.

If I were you I would just get a regular Yorkie. When I was looking for a new dog I wanted to get a very small dog that I could carry in a little handbag and dress up. But then i found out that they have so many health issues. They are just not healthy. If you have lot of money to blow on vet bills, than go right ahead. If you can bring it to work with you than go right ahead. They are very dependent on humans. They cant even stay by themselves for more than 30 minutes. Most have a life span of less then 8 years. You would just be wasting your money. So just get a regular Yorkie.

As a general breed I don't know... more often it depends how you treat it... more often than not the dogs that get carried around in handbags are quite bad tempered to strangers because they are given a pretty high status by their owners... they therefore become one-person pets. However, early socialising and puppy classes could turn him/her into a lovable pet who is friendly to everyone :)

IF YOU FIND A GOOD BREEDER THAT SOCIALISES THE PUPPY WELL AT A YOUNG AGE AND AS LONG AS YOU CARRIE ON WITH THE SOCIALISING IT SHOULD BE FINE HAVE GOOD LOOK AT THE PUPS MUM AND DAD SEE WHAT THERE TEMPERAMENTS .LIKE.IF THERE FRIENDLY ENOUGH THEN IT SHOULD BE FINE.IF YOUR GETTING ONE FROM A DOGS HOME YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT SORT OF PASSED ITS HAD. BUT THAT'S UP TO YOU THEN TO JUDGE THE DOGS TEMPERAMENT.

I've heard they are sweet to their owners, but they yelp a lot. I wanted to get one, but opted for a bigger dog instead. Little dogs can't do much! I guess they do have smaller poop though. . .

Yorkshire terriers are, like most small dogs, vicious little bastards. Get a nice labrador or something.
