There is 1 species of dog! There are many breeds, but all domestic dogs are the same species.

With just the AKC (American Kennel Club and the UKC (United Kennel Club) (these are the only two legit registries in the US) there are over 350 recognized breeds of dogs.This doesn't include breeds registered/recognized by legit registries from other countries.

i think you mean breed. There are HUNDREDS!!! Try looking on dogbreedinfo.com. They have so many dog breeds, some you wouldn't even think of.

Those are BREEDS. All BREEDS are species CANINE.
