Maybe I should explain that this question was an expression of exasperation with the level of questions prevalent in this forum. I hope that sounds as pretentious as i intended and all the capital letters are in the right places. Salt & pepper are excellent condiments for the table btw.

The only thing I understand about food is that its the stuff you put in your mouth and swallow when hungry !
Its also all full of pollyhydro thingys that no one should eat, its all clearly marked up on the packets so even a simpleton like my self can understand that I am not supposed to eat more than 1 pollyhydro part of a hot dog every 3months, unless the moon is in the 3rd quarter! Whats to understand?
Oh yes I almost forgot eating can make you fat and kill you, so give it up before its too late, you have been warned!!!!
Hope this helps?

yes i do

but then again - I'm from Scotland !

Joking aside - I certainly appreciate good food and ingredients and am very aware of where I buy my meat & veg - farm shop preferably.

Pre-packed meals are a waste of space - you can cook the same meal from scratch with fresh ingredients far cheaper than buying ready made. For example last week I bought micned pork and made a batch of 80 meatballs which I split into 3 and froze 2 - this cost me just £2.00 and I have 3 substantial meals.
