A pedigree is your dogs pedigree...it lists parents, grandparents, great Grandparents, etc. It also lists registration #, colors, OFA # (if hips/elbows were x-rayed through OFA),show titles, performance titles, DNA # (if sire, grandsire etc has been DNA).It also lists who the breeder was for each of these dogs and when they first entered the studbook.
All purebreds registered with a legit registry (AKC, Canadian Kennel Club) are pedigreed.All have pedigrees on record and can be traced back to the breeds beginings.

A pedigree tells they entire family tree of a dog, including champions in his blood line.
Pedigrees are mostly used when breeding, to know which two should be mated.
