Acts Chapter 2 is the Beginning of Christ's Church. The Apostles spoke to those at Pentecost and baptized over 5,000. This began the CHURCH! We read further to find what else is required of a Christian.

To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. Have a great week.

I think you mean 'whoever shall call upon his name shall be saved'.

Well hypothetically if the bible is 100%correct then yes. But not in the literal sense, of merely mouthing the name of christ as that would first be absurd and second contradictory to the rest of the bible.

Considering the full bible one has to conclude that calling his name doesn't consist merely in yelling his name out, that to truly call upon his name several other criteria have to be met- perhaps the living of a good life, repentance etc

If you still believe that Jesus was not a body manifestation of the very creator God, the word that formed the worlds made flesh, then you are still bound in a lack of revelation which is the central denial of the NWT rewrite; and the JW belief system. For it is not and was not the faith of the Apostles nor the plan of the only living God. God has laid aside all other names to set forth the Lord Jesus Christ; that at his name all things in earth below and heaven above should and will bow. For the first 300 years, until false doctrine defeated the true church; Christians were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord being his name under the title of Father; Jesus being his name under the title of Son; and Christ or Messiah being his name under the title of the Holy Ghost. Then as now, Jesus lives in his children; who are the believers and the true church in this ending hour.

Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. It also states that we must confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe (to trust in, rely on, adhere to) in our heart that God raised him from the dead and you shall be saved. That is all there is to it. You will be saved. If you want to live a life as God wants you to, you are to follow what Jesus taught the apostles and what the apostles taught. Believe the gospel, defined in I Corinthians 15: 1-4. " Read the word of God, I Timothy 4:13, aloud daily because "faith cometh by hearing", Romans 10:17. Humble your soul with fasting according to Psalm 35:13 to achieve Isaiah 58:6-7 in your life. Seek to be led by the Holy Spirit, Romans 8:14. Learn to pray without ceasing, I Thessalonians 5:17. Meditate on the word of God daily--especially the Gospel, I Corinthians 15:1-4." (Strong recommendations to Christians)

Well its a little more than that. Jesus also says that "whoever holds out until the end shall be saved". He also says that it is not those who call out, Lord, Lord who will be saved but those who do the will of the Father. Indeed, read the Scriptures and see how many times Jesus refers to all of his miracles as works.

Do not fall for the fundamentalists' ploy about "inviting Jesus into your heart" and praying the sinner's prayer. Very unbiblical indeed! If this were the case and this were "all you have to do" as they say, the all of salvation has just been reduced to a magic formula (knowing the right thing to say).

St. Paul tells us to "work out your salvation in fear and trembling".

If your question is "whoever shall call upon his name shall be saved," then yes, absolutely! Jesus says if you call upon my name and follow me, then I will wipe away all your sins!

Sure...because His name is not truly known o us...as it has been revealed in different cultures and different eras...the pursuit of TRUTH for the sake of others rather than self is saving enough
