I have tried to go to many differant churches but I do a lot of my own bible study.

Well do most of my own bible study but go to church, and I don't agree with any church 100 percent.

Is this normal to get your own understanding out of the bible?

That is why we have a bible. Not all pastors or preachers are 100% correct each and every time. They try real hard and they have studied for many years but they do make an occasional mistake from time to time.
We should give them a little slack and at the same time we can hold them accountable.
But then, we are not perfect as well.
The bible does indeed teach " Love one another ". RIGHT ??

It's normal, but if you think about it, if you can't find a single mainstream denomination you agree with, it means you think you are such a massive genious you have figured out what the Bible really means and nobody else has been able to do that and convince others of it in 2000 years.

I am assuming that you are a christian. Most christians I know feel this way. There are over 34,000 sects of christianity in the world currently. One of them is bound to suit you. I would keep trying to find a church family that would be a better fit. Non-denominational churches are wonderful places to have fellowship with like minded ppl without being bound to a set of denominational doctrines.

Just my witchy 2 sense....LOL

I'm Catholic, but don't approve of the way the Church treats women, and I'm all for birth control. So no, I don't agree with everything the Church teaches; however, I agree with enough of it that I have chosen to remain Catholic.

Yes, I belong to the United Methodist church. The church has certain policies that I do not agree with, but you do not have to agree with them and a personal relationship with God is encouraged. It works for me. cal

i think u r normal. i go to catholic church but i don't agree with alot of what they teach. i don't think homosexuality is a sin. if it were a sin what do they have to say about people who were born with no gender (inter sex) or with both genders (hermaphrodites).
i don't think birth control is a sin. if it were than people would be having like 20 children and we would have an overpopulation issue.
i don't think divorce is a sin. what if your husband or wife cheats on you and brings home tons of diseases. what if your in a violent rltp. what if its your partner that wants the divorce and u don't, are u still sinning.

Sure. Anyone who says you're either completely in or completely out is trying to manipulate you.

Oh yes. I am a Catholic, but I'm on the Pill, support gay marriage, and am pro-choice.
