im 19 n a freshmean in college n i don't have a job (but believe me, im trying to get one) so i don't exactly have a lot of money. the money i do have go towards gas for my car n things for school. my mom is trying to take my bank card away from me bcuz she say im using MY money on junk (i didn't know school things were junk) i need to keep my card if i wanna keep gas in my car n i need to get things for school .... what i wanted to know was ... is there some way i can keep her from taking my card n my money? is there some legal action i need to do?

The only thing you can do is open a new account under your own name. That way your mom can not access your account. There is no way you can block her from accessing the account you have now.

Go to the bank and discuss this with them. Is your mother a signer on your account? If not, you should have no problem with this.
Do you receive your money from your mom? If you do, she may not give you more if you don't accede to her wishes as to how you spend it.
Maybe your mom has some good ideas as to how to take care of your school expenses in a more frugal way. If so, maybe you could discuss this with her and work out a compromise. This might be her way of trying to make you learn to be smarter with your money (or her hard-earned money that she has given you, if that is the case) so that you will have some when you need it.

If you don't have a job, how are you saving money & who is putting the money in your account for you?
Seems like you may want to take a look in the mirror to figure out this one.
If you indeed want to be independent, then step up. Get a job & a new bank account that YOU put money into and she will no longer have access to it.

if your mum's name is on the account there is nothing you can do, open a new account under your own name only, get a new bank card and save as hard as you can to live independanly on your own. wish my daughter were like you.

Call the bank and tell them what is going on. They may be able to help you lock her out of your account. But beware, this action may cause your Mom to kick you out, but at least you will be in control of your own life.

Open a new account----------make sure your mother's name is not on it. You are over 18-legal age-she has no right to your account.
But, if she is like this--she may not let you stay with her anymore.
Have you tried to get a student loan or grant?

have your mom abducted by a pimp. Have him pimp her out for$$$$$ get your %%% and bank it,sit back and watch if your mom is as good as she thinks watch the $$$$ roll in, and enjoy you'll have plenty of cash for school things and even dumb things....Enjoy!!!!!
