it depends on how often you see eachother and the bond of the relationship...trust and honesty...ive had a long distance one...it didnt work out....we didnt communicate that well..but my sister had one for 2 years....they have great communication and a very strong bond...they just got married this past june..i dont know any two other people that are better for them than eachother.

It would depend on the strength of the relationship, commitment of the parties, and how often you are able to communicate meaningfully. Sometimes an email or IM would do, other times you want to hear each others' voices, and other times you need "face time" with each other. Depending on these and other factors, they can work, but you both also get out of it what you both put in it - meaning if one is really putting in effort and the other is coasting along it probably won't work, but if both are really trying to make it work and there's efforts on both parts to keep the relationship alive, it'll probably survive until you can be together!

Not in my experience. I have had 3 long distance relationships and none working because it is just too difficult. For a long distance relationship to work both people have to at the very least 200% dedicated and even then the odds are 50/50.

Yes, but you have to work at it. It is important to communicate with each other as much as possible; phone, email, texting. It is also important to trust each other, if you dont trust each other then the relationship is definitely not going to work. I was in a long distance relationship for almost 3 years, we were 500 miles apart. Now we are married, seven and a half happy months!

Mainly it depends on a lot of factors, first off you should know the person before they move or before you move. 2nd you need to be willing to make it work, to go through heaven and hell and deal with thousands of people constantly asking you "Why?" and saying you cant make it. but if you truly want it, it does work, im getting married this aug, to the man iv been dating for 3 and a half years now, and he's been almost two years up in idaho while im down here in california. we talk every day, even just for five minuets it makes all the difrence. so if you want it, and your both commitied to it. it can happen.
Good Luck!

it all depends on both of you. i am in one myself and its been more than a year now, i haf to admit it is really hard especially in the beginning...but the trust and love that you haf will put you through it all. it kinda makes your relationship so much more worth it and meaningful because you will cherish the limited time that you spent together in person. its special and different from what other people may experience and it is exactly what makes it unique. trust yourself and your partner.

depends on the strength of the relationship and the amount of time.....after a while I think this kind of set up will deteriorate---we need to be together in order for a relationship to work.
