We are being exposed more to it, not only through better global communication, but also through a thriving domestic immigrant culinary market.

We have always eaten foreign food. Most of the foods you think are "American" were not created here in "America". Do a little research into our cuisine, and you will see what I mean. Europeans brought their cuisine and techniques with them, mixed it with the different tribes of Native Americans and the products available in the different regions. Then when slavery began, slaves mixed their cuisines and cooking techniques into the cuisine again. Then as more and more immigrants come into the country, food keeps evolving. You cannot go into a Mexican restaurant in the US and find a 100% Mexican Menu. It wont happen. The same can be said about Chinese restaurants too. General Tso's chicken is not a dish that was created in China. Its a dish that was created in the US, but heavily influenced by Chinese cuisine.

We now have more opportunities to travel to foreign countries and experience the different foods on offer. We are also becoming a more cosmopolitan society, which is reflected in the food that we eat.

Because of two things:
A. There are more foreign people than All-American people in the world
B. About 100 countries compared to 1 country is kind of a lot of different foods
P.S. American foods are fried chicken, burgers, and hot dogs. Oh, yeah... we have our own versions of pizza because in Italy they don't have toppings. It's just cheese on top of sauce on top of crust. They don't even have cheese inside the crust. Man, I wish I could have a pizza right now!

I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case, I'm eating a lot more Asian food because its healthier. It also helps that I love this type of food. Lately I'm into Indonesian food. Its fantastic.
Indonesia is sort of the melting pot of Asia and the food has elements of Indian, Thai, Chinese, and its own unique flavors as well.

The globe is getting smaller! Or so it seems. People do not stay in one place any more. There is increased travel, the internet, and rampant, unchecked immigration into the USA. Exotic foods are not so exotic or weird anymore. Spaghetti was weird until 1945, when WW2 was over, and soldiers came home wanting what they'd had in Europe. You no longer have to go to south Louisiana for Cajun food, Cuba for Cuban food, Mexico for Mexican food and China for Chinese food. As people move and travel, they bring their foodways with them.

Because now it's more accessible (more and more people eat out in general, and thus eat more in foreign restaurants).
I eat it because I love trying new things, and I think most of it tastes very good.

Because British and American food is rubbish.
Plus we are more cosmopolitan and travel more. Therefore we have discovered and have far more interesting foreign food available to us.
Italian, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Turkish ..it's all superior and healthier to fish 'n chips and roast beef and yorkshire pud with spotted dick...or McD and KFC....there's no contest.

What do you mean by 'foreign food'? Most of the food we eat originates from other countries.
If you mean meals or recipes then probably because we are more adventurous thanks to communication and travel.
