im totally oblivious to this zodiac stuff
what gem or whatever is she? what can i get her? a necklace or bracelet?

But try listening to her in a store and seeing if she picks up anything and comments that she likes it. We girls consider that "giving a hint" but from my experience guys rarely pick up on that. Try to focus on comments like "Man it would be so much easier to do this if I had a _____" or "Sarah was wearing the most beautiful pair of earrings today. She got them at (store)." If you miss all those, call up her best friend and explain that you have no idea and could use help. Even if her best friend didn't like you before hand, she'll help you out.

Also, if you are determined to go with jewelry--flip through a catalogue with her and get her to pick out some things she likes. Or ask her Do you like this better or this? Even if they are really expensive and out of your budget, it gives you an idea of her taste. Look through the jewelry she's already got.
