Tough one. They're both yummy. In more of a waffle mood today over here. Love brushing my waffle iron with a little syrup before adding the batter. It gets this crispy caramely coating on them...

Both are excellent if they are "made from scratch". Waffles are much more fattening due to the high amount of oil in the batter and the tendency to use more butter to fill up all those indentations! With either, one should only use REAL maple syrup!

I think waffles are better, I like to put raisins in, after I pour batter in the waffle iron. Then I sprinkle with cinnamon and pour syrup on top. very good. This is making me hungry.

pancakes
try topping them with apple pie filling that has been cooked on the stove untill the apples are tender. I add just enough sugar to make it taste sweet and add cinnamon and a little butter.

fresh waffles are definately better, but they take a longer time to make since you need a waffle iron.
