I am not sure what you mean by a wrist roller but I do know how to strengthen your wrists.
Form is key. The back of your hand, wrist and arm should form one straight line.
Impact should be done with the knuckle of the first and second fingers. The wrist should not be bent or hooked in any direction. You must make your wrist and hand become one solid piece with your forearm.
Do push ups on your knuckles in this manner preferably on a hard surface.
Use a makiwara board or substitute with a heavy bag for punching in this manner.
Perfect your form. Train with quality in mind.

the impact is most felt by the joints, and you cant make them bigger and stronger. you can support them through strengthening your wrist and forearm muscles, but you will still feel the impact.
try other ways, like chopping or palms to the face. they work too, you know.
also, if your technique is wrong you will get very sore very fast, perhaps this is a cause for you? focus on technique before strength

i don't think so, if you want to make your wrists strong you should do more push up, but punching heavy bag can make you mind fast, when your mind is fast action will be fast too, than is better than strong wrists right? remember punchbag muct purchase leather type, try www.msnusers.com.treblekick than got a lot of combat equipments n training course post there.
