People who have panic attacks have different ways of handling them. I've been having them for a few months now, due to a traumatic situation that happened in my life (which I'd like to keep disclosed, thank you). Some people are medicated for anxiety disorders, and some aren't. I'm glad that my methods, my counselor taught me them and I don't need medication. Usually when I feel them about to start, I make sure I take deep, slow breaths to calm my heartbeat. I make sure I am sitting down. I make sure I talk with a friend or a relative or my boyfriend. I also try to think of things that make me the happiest or calmest, even if it's something you're looking forward to, like a date, or when you're going home, etc. I keep a bottle of cold water with me and a cloth to wet and put on my forehead. But it is important to be there for her when she goes through them. They are difficult, physically and emotionally, but as long as you are there for her, and she tries these methods, they could work. But if they do not, I would suggest she see a doctor or therapist. They should be able to recommend her for medication or other methods. Good Luck.

Panic attacks usually occur intermitently not constantly so there must be a greater problem at hand and she should be taking a tranquilizer, best to go to the Dr. on this there are no ready made solutions.

Its all about recognising what is happening to her. When she feels an attack coming on she should take herself out of the situation and practice relaxing and controlling her breathing. When she starts to hyperventilate she will beogn to feel unwell.

Look on the net for relaxation excercises and practice these.

Good luck
