why do people have such strong dislike towards gay sometimes from a religious stand point? I know god has said homosexuality is a sin but still there are many other sins that people sin. Why is sloth and being lazy (which is about 99 percent of us) driving a car instead of running, searchin for info online instead of going to out. What about over eating is that not a sin too? Most americans are overweight as we indulge ourselfs with food. Why do most seem to not care about these sins? And yet focus on homosexuality? is it any worst? what about a man that looks upon a woman with lust and gives into his instincts of sex without love is that any worst than homosexuality? Society seems to care a lot more about homosexuality than a lot of other sins. I never heard of a pedofile bashing but i've heard of gay bashing. I never heard of a rapist bashing but i've heard of gay bashing.

As a Christian Pastor I agree with you.
People would sometimes be a lot better off if they concentrated on the sin in their own lives rather than be so concerned about the sin in others.
Sin is Sin, it separates us from God.
Yes I believe that homosexuality is a sin but then so is telling that little white lie.
It separates us from the Will of God.

First and foremost, don't put everyone in a category. Sin is sin and that's it. We need to take the log out of our own eyes before taking the dust out of others. Which means we ourselves problem have bigger things wrong than the person that's being bashed. Sometimes we lash out on people because we have the same sin and don't want anyone to see it in us. No, I do not believe that homosexuality is right. I have several close relatives that are, but they were not born that way. That comes from the Scripture in Matthew about the eunuchs. Eunuchs were like maids to queens and those in royal positions. They were men that had no testicles. Some were born without them and other were castrated by men. So just be aware of the sin within before lashing out.

I agree with you... I dont look at gays as "more sinful" than myself because they arent. My only issue is when people say I have to believe its NOT a sin. I don't think I will ever think it isn't any more than any other sin is still a sin. If I have to realize that I sin and my sins are not ok, Im certainly not going to say "well someone elses are fine"

Sin is something we all have to deal with, and all need to work on in ourselves. But I dont believe in treating one as better or worse than another really. Though I do have a huge grudge against rapists and pedophiles.

Pedophiles are murdered and raped in jail all the time...

Don't get me wrong I am not saying that discrimination and hatred against homosexuals is right, what I am saying is we love God, we live by, walk by, and stand on his word. I think if homosexuals really find nothing wrong with the life they live stop seeking acceptance from people who deem it wrong in the eyes of God and just live.

There are people who hate me for being black I can't change that and I don't try, I just live, I love myself, and I don't care when someone racist says we are the cursed people in the bible. There are people who say I should be quiet in church because I am a woman...

You will not find your answers in man you will find them in God, start seeking God and not the acceptance of human beings who them selves are not perfect in their walk.

Much of it has less to do with God and more to do with people's own problems. Homosexuality makes them uncomfortable, so they attack it.
It also has to do with homosexuality as a "lifestyle". You rape someone once (and I am NOT equating homosexuality with rape). If you "chose" to act on your homosexual (I honestly don't know what I think about the "is-it-a-choice" debate) feelings over a lifetime, you have not asked God to forgive your sins and tried to change.
Just a humble opinion.

A few quotes came to mind-- the first one I just thought was funny, the second one is probably more accurate.

I am free of all prejudice. I hate everyone equally.
A quote from W. C. Fields (1880 - 1946)

If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of ourselves doesn't disturb us.
A quote from Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962)

God didn't say anything about homosexuality being a sin...Leviticus did. Right next to:

- Can't eat pork
- Can't trim your beard
- Can't mix fabrics
- Kill a disobedient child

Remember, the bible was put to paper by MEN.

Its natural for straight men to find homosexuality uncomfortable FOR THEMSELVES. The problem is they want to transfer that discomfort to gays, and you can't justify your disaproval of somoene unless they bare responsibility for doing something wrong. Therefore, the bible makes a great scapegoat to justify someone's own intolerance. "I don't like the act, so I must not like the people...but I can't condem them unless they've done something wrong, and knew it was wrong. Therefore, being gay must be a choice and the bible says its a sin"

That's why its always straight, ignorant men claiming homosexuality is a choice when they know nothing about it.

Christians pick & choose which passages they follow according to their own personal fears and hatred. They don't own slaves, which God says is OK, and they don't kill people that work on Sunday even though God says they should die.

But boy, oh boy, do they ever latch onto the whole "abomination" thing as a weapon against homosexuals when it suits their needs! I never knew the bible was supposed to be used as a weapon.

People have gotten use to many types of sins, and they no longer think of them as sin. But homosexuality still disturbs people (their conscience has not yet been deadened to it) and that is why there is so much response to it.

Just as we have laws in this country, so does God. If we break man's law's then we are found to be guilty. The same is with God's law's. If I were you, I would take this issue up with GOD, and not men or women. It is God.s law's. He is the one that made the law. We are doing what HE say's for us to do.
However, I do not HATE anyone that breaks the law. I just do not approve of them. As It would be if someone broke man's laws.
If someone broke something of yours, would you not want for that person to make ammends to it.? We all would.
There are penalty's for many things in this life and we have to live by them. If we all broke all the laws then we might not as well have any police or elected officials or any government.
These things are in place for that very reason.
If you want the law changed that would allow the gay issue's, then you need to discuss it with GOD.
OK ?
